Waimarama beach

Hawke's Bay

Amber, 11

I can feel the heat of the burning hot sun shining down on me.
Kids screaming and shouting, playing on boogie boards and jumping waves.
I can smell the salty scent of saltwater.

Waimarama is like that.

The salty water taste when you go underwater.
I look out to sea and the stunning bare island sits there, glistening in the sun.

Waimarama is like that.

Waves crashing down on the beach and the sand burns your feet.
Kids making sandcastles with colourful buckets and spades.

My place is like that.
