Shelly Bay, Bowentown
Bay of Plenty/Coromandel
Seren , 10I hold my breath and dive, as a shoal of fish dart away. Relaxing, I sink to the sand, from where I gaze up at the sun, sprinkling its powerful rays across the water. The soft, cool breeze tickling my face gently nudges me towards the pohutukawas at the other end of the beach. Fish hide amongst the rocks, looking for prey, or hiding from predators, while sea snails make use of the high tide, to crawl to another safe spot that will reduce their chance of becoming another fish’s dinner. I start to shiver as the sun goes behind a cloud, glancing at my watch, I retire to the golden sand.
