Sophie, 13I glance out the car window, I see the sun shining down on the water behind us.
I hear the birds chirping, the wind rustling and the distant sound of waves softly crashing down onto the sand.
I jog down the log path and leap onto the warm, golden sand. I run to the edge of the water and feel the cold waves rush over my feet.
I notice the salty smell getting stronger the more waves come over me.
I hear my family calling me, I run back to the smell of sizzling sausages.
That is my favourite place in New Zealand.
