Lake Tekapo is my favourite place in New Zealand, and it’s great for families.It’s small but has so much character and fun activities close by. You can go skiing, horse trekking, star watching, ice skating, fishing, visit the hot pools, go kayaking and mountain biking or hiking around the scenic landscape. You can hike almost everywhere - trekking up into the Mackenzie High Country or up the snow-capped mountains.
Lake Tekapo is a truly beautiful place. It’s a great getaway from busy city life and a real way to experience the New Zealand countryside first-hand.
