Above the Mountain
Alexis, 12Like a hidden garden guarded by a platoon of trees. They are soldiers; old wooden legs, bushy green hair. Beneath the dirt is a world unknown. Tents pitched to keep us from freezing to death. Freshly mown grass forms a pathway. An intoxicated smell wisps through my nose. A melted iceland as my bath and shower. A sunset of wonder with a darkened sky. A galaxy full of stars continues the night. A burst of flame is here tonight. Dressed in my pajamas ready for bed. The moon shines bright here at Kaniwhaniwha.
